April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and taking action to protect children and strengthen families. At Sunflower Children’s Collective, we are committed to this mission year round, but during April, we host a variety of events to bring our community together in support of child abuse prevention. These events are great opportunities to get involved with SCC, learn more about our programs, and make a meaningful impact. Join us this month as we work toward a future where every child feels safe, supported, and heard.

The blue pinwheel is the national symbol for Child Abuse Prevention. It represents the joyful, safe, and healthy childhood every child deserves.
For us, the pinwheel also tells a deeper story. The child and family are at the center. Surrounding them are the advocates, CASAs, social workers, partner agencies, programs, and multidisciplinary team members who wrap around them with support, protection, and hope.
Just like the blades of a pinwheel spin together, our community comes together — each act of care helping families strengthen, heal, and thrive.
When you see a blue pinwheel, let it be a reminder: prevention is possible, hope is real, and it truly takes all of us.
